This is an overnight residential program.
Students are registered on a first come first served
basis.
Space is limited with a maximum of 15 students.
Open to High School Students entering 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th
grade.
There are still openings in the summer 2009 workshop.
Registrations for Summer 2010 will begin when the web site is
updated, January 1, 2010.

This two-week hands-on video residential workshop for high school students entering the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade in the fall will be held on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy New York and will focus on all aspects of video production. Access to equipment and editing suites will be shared and provided through Rensselaer.

Cost: $2,800 per person. Cost includes residential room and board meals, a group DVD with all summer projects as well as individual master copies. Contact Kari Bennett at (518) 276-6431 regarding a commuter rate.
Registration Deadline: Early registrations are encouraged. Space is limited. A non-refundable deposit of $560.00 must accompany the registration. Final payment and the below accepted student forms are due by July 13, 2009. If you have any questions, please contact Kari Bennett at (518) 276-6431.
Program Details
The workshop will focus on; Scripting and storyboarding, Shooting video, Recording audio, and Editing and post production (all done digitally). Short lectures in the mornings covering technical skills and history will be followed by practical studio experience in the afternoon. All students will take home a group DVD with all summer projects as well as individual master copies.
Faculty Profile: Liz Blum is a visual artist whose work encompasses installations, image composites, neon, photography and video. She exhibits both nationally and internationally, and is currently living in Troy, New York. Liz is an adjuct faculty member in The Department of the Arts at Rensselaer.
Faculty Profile: Ethan Bach has been working with video since 1994. He is a multi media artist who utilizing video in various forms of story telling from narrative, documentary, interactive installation, and interactive online. He has exhibited his work all over the world, is a graduate of RPI's MFA in Electronic Arts and currently resides in Santa Fe, NM.

Note for Summer program participants Medication Sheet Form and Self Medication Waiver: For children who do not have any prescriptions the parent and doctor should sign the Medication sheet for the three over the counter medications listed so they can be administered by the Health Services Office. If your son/daughter does not have any medications to self administer then the Self Medication Form is not applicable.
Location: This program will be held on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.
Transportation: The Albany International Airport and Amtrak Train Station are each location 20 minutes from campus. Car rentals are available from both the airport and train station. All students must furnish their own transportation to and from campus.
