RESIDENT COUNSELORS NEEDED - Weekly pay plus room and board
We are looking for Resident Counselors who will assist in the supervision and support of the participants in summer enrichment programs such as the Architecture Career Discovery Program, Computer Game Development Academy, Envision Product Innovation Academy and the Video Summer Residential Workshop during evening and weekend hours. The counselors will provide guidance to program participants and serve as a positive role model. The participants in these residential summer programs are high school students. Salary includes a weekly pay plus room and board. THE OFFICE OF CONFERENCE SERVICES - Full and part time positions available - Free on campus housing
The Office of Conference Services is filling their summer student staff. The positions provide an opportunity to gain some great leadership experience. A strong candidate will be organized, personable, details oriented, a good team member and an effective problem solver. Applicants must be currently enrolled as full-time Rensselaer students and returing as full-time students in the fall. All staff must reside in OCS summer residence hall during the conference season. OFFICE OF THE FIRST-YEAR EXPERIENCE - Student Orientation and Navigating Rensselaer & Beyond - Coordinator position
The Coordinator position is full-time working in the FYE office with both the Student Orientation (SO) and Navigating Rensselaer & Beyond (NRB) programs. The Coordinator(s) will be called upon to manage the day-to-day operations of the office including responding to student and family inquiries related to SO and NRB, managing the databases, and organizing all SO/NRB response forms and logistics related to data-entry, academic advising and registration. The Coordinator(s) will be responsible for providing coverage for the SO/NRB office during standard business hours throughout the summer as well as assisting with and managing particular aspects of the temporary summer relocation of the office, if applicable. The Coordinator(s) will oversee the preparation of orientation and serving as a resource for the orientation advisors. Please note this position starts with the student working a few hours a week prior to the end of the term. Full-time status starts shortly after school ends. OFFICE OF THE FIRST-YEAR EXPERIENCE - Student Orientation and Navigating Rensselaer & Beyond - Adviser position
The Student Orientation adviser position is for students interested in being a part of the orientation team that helps welcome the incoming class. It is not full-time and can be held in conjunction with a co-op or summer job, but cannot overlap. The position requires the student to work two full weeks in July as well as a week-and-a-half before classes start in August. SO advisors need to be enthusiastic, responsible, show evidence of leadership abilities, and be aware of the purpose of orientation programming. THE DEAN OF STUDENTS OFFICE - SUMMER JOBS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
The Dean of Students Office is pleased to announce its Office of Minority Student Affairs (OMSA) 2010 summer job openings working with middle and high school students who aspire to pursue careers in STEM fields. Programs that will require student staff include the Summer STEP Programs, the PREFACE Summer Program, and the STEM program among others. Students hired for the OMSA Summer Program positions are required to attend a comprehensive training program prior to reporting to their appointed position. Positions are available for 2,4, and 8 weeks between June 9 and August 7, as residence directors, resident teaching assistants, and sports assistants.
