Summer Enrichment Programs

Summer enrichment programs allow elementary, middle, and high school students the chance to participate in non credit programs that stimulate their minds and exercise their bodies. Each program will be individually priced. Residential Enrichment Programs for High School Students

Summer residential enrichment programs are held on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. Programs are designed and taught by Rensselaer faculty members. Activities include daily on-campus preparation, lab experience, tours, visits with faculty and admissions counselors, hands-on projects, and interactions with current undergraduate and graduate students.

  The Summer High School Research Program is a four-week residential program for selected high school students from select schools to actively work on research projects with Rensselaer faculty members, graduate, and undergraduate students.

• Emma Willard/Rensselaer Engineering Camp for Girls
  

  The Emma/Rensselaer Engineering Camp is a residential program for girls entering grades seven through nine. This camp is for girls with a love of gadgets, gizmos, and innovation and who are itching to make an impact on the world around them.

• Visual Storytelling: Exploring the Art of Comics
  
  • Students do not need prior drawing experience, but must have a passion for creative expression!

• Aerospace Engineering Summer Career Exploration Program
  

  THE ONLY SESSION: July 28 (Sunday check in) to August 2 (Friday check out).

  Open to High school students entering 10th, 11th, and 12th grade in the fall.

• Architecture Career Discovery Program
  

  Session I: July 7 (Sunday check in) July 19 (Friday check out) - Summer 2013 - Overnight two weeks.

  Session II: July 21 (Sunday check in) August 2 (Friday check out) - Summer 2013 - Overnight two weeks.

  Open to High school students entering 10th, 11th and 12th grade in the fall.

• Computer Game Development Academy
  

  2D Session is our traditional academy and will focus on 2D game development: June 30 (Sunday check in) to July 12 (Sunday check out) - Summer 2013 - Overnight two weeks.

  3D Session is an advanced academy that will focus on 3D game development, and commensurately will have firmer admission requirements: July 14 (Sunday check in) to July 26 (Sunday check out) - Summer 2013 - Overnight two weeks.

  Open to High school students entering 11th grade, 12th grade in the fall and high school graduates.

• Engineering Summer Exploration Program
  

  July 14 (Sunday check in) July 19 (Friday check out) - Summer 2012 - Overnight one week.

  Open to High school students entering 10th, 11th and 12th grade in the fall.

  Monday, July 8 to Friday, July 12, 2013 - One week day enrichment program.

  Open to students ages 9-12/13 (parent decision).

  This program is open to high school students entering 10th, 11th, and 12th grade in the fall 2013.

  July 8-19, 2013 - Junior LEGO® Half Day Morning and Afternoon Sessions - Open to ages 8-10.

  July 8-19, 2013 - LEGO® NXT; Half Day Morning and Afternoon Sessions - Open to ages 11-14.

  July 22-26, 2013 - Advanced LEGO® NXT Full Day Session - Open to ages 11-14.

  July 29 to August 2, 2013 - VEX Robotics Session - Open to ages 13-16.

• Samaritan-Rensselaer Children's Center RPI Summer Day Camp
  

  June 24-August 29 - Day Session - Summer 2013 - Graduates of Kindergarten through 12 years old.

• Young Actors Guild
  

  The Young Actors Guild will hold vacation acting camps in February and April, a spring program and the popular summer five week program along with one week programs in the summer of 2013.

• Credit Courses for High School Students this Summer
  

  Summer courses for college credit are available to academically qualified and talented high school students. College credits earned while in high school provide students an opportunity to pursue more rigorous course work than may be available in high school.

• Past Summer Programs - Business CEO Scholars Program - 2012 Program Cancelled
  

  There have been some changes to the Business CEO Scholars Program. Due to some unforeseen circumstances the faculty in our Lally School of Management & Technology are unable to teach the Business CEO Scholars Program. As a result Rensselaer has decided to cancel the summer 2012 Business CEO Scholars Program.
