Open to rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders | Cost: $2,000

Explore the field of aerospace engineering, tour RPI's top-tier research labs, learn how experimental data is collected by running wind tunnel tests, and learn about advanced computer simulations. Participants will apply their new aerodynamic and flight mechanic knowledge by building electric radio controlled airplanes for test flights.
Participants will learn the basics of aerospace engineering through lectures, aerodynamic demonstrations, computer simulations, and experiments in a lab setting. Various experiments will be conducted on different plane models. Similarly, students will learn and use advanced computational fluid dynamic tools. Students will also design, build, and test two model airplanes utilizing their newly acquired aeronautical engineering knowledge. Interact with our brilliant faculty, graduate researchers, and undergraduate students in the field.

The Summer Aerospace Engineering program is taught by Professor Michael Amitay and Professor Onkar Sahni of Rensselaer’s Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering with support from the School of Engineering’s Design/Build/Fly student club.

2024 Architecture Career Discovery Flyer

Offered both online and in person, this two-week program is designed to expose rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders to a high-quality undergraduate architecture program. Students will experience the rigors and rewards of a college-level architecture studio first-hand.

STEAMM Inventor's Studio 2024
July 8 to July 19, 2024

Led by established RPI professors of various fields and supported by RPI Student Assistants, students in the program will explore cutting-edge interdisciplinary topics and career paths that integrate disciplines in science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics, and medicine. This is a project-based program that combines hands-on discovery with classroom learning.
